I am a retired Civil Engineer living in Golden, Colorado. I was born and raised in eastern Kansas (Shawnee Mission area, a suburb on the west side of Kansas City). I graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School and Kansas State University (Manhattan, KS). While in college, I was an active member of the Sigma Nu (social) and Sigma Lambda Chi (scholastic honorary) fraternities. I am married and have two adult sons.
I joined the Department of the Interior as a Civil Engineer in 1971. I served in Minnesota (Twin Cities, Ft Snelling) for 13 years, Colorado (Lakewood) for three years, Montana (Billings) for two years and California (Sacramento) for 9 years. I returned to Colorado (Lakewood) in 1992 where, after 35+ years of service, I retired. I spend my winters in eastern Texas (Tyler/Palestine area) but return to Colorado for the spring, summer and fall seasons.
I have been working at the Fossil Trace Golf Club (Golden, CO) since my retirement. I play a lot of golf and enjoy camping and fishing. I spend a lot of time managing my retirement investments. My hobbies include wood working, photography and computer programming.
I bought my first corvette in 2010 (a 2006 3LT 6-speed coupe) and traded it for a new 2016 Z51 3LT coupe in November 2015. I opted for the 8-speed automatic so that I can drive and drink coffee at the same time. I attended the Corvette Owners Driving School (Spring Mountain, Pahrump, NV) in November 2016 and relished every minute on the driving course.
